Like many readers of this blog I had, of course, heard of Eucalyptus; the project to provide an open source Cloud infrastructure that behaves a lot like Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud.

Until I had the opportunity to hear Project Director Rich Wolski speak enthusiastically at TTI/Vanguard in San Diego last month, I hadn’t realised that ‘Eucalyptus’ was actually an acronym. My pride at having contorted words to arrive at PORTAL as the name of a project studying institutional portals took a severe knock!

Keen to share some of Rich’s insight and experience with a wider audience, I was delighted when he agreed to participate in one of my ongoing series of Cloudy podcasts, and the result has just been released.

Show notes for this podcast are available on TalisNodalities blog.
